This post is written for parents trying to decide which camera to purchase for their student photographer. This guide is a work in progress; I will update it periodically. The information in the guide comes from my experience as a photographer and a teacher of photography students.

Please make sure you are planning accordingly to finish your assignments by the end of the semester. The research projects and photo essays will take more than just a week, so you should be already be reading over the directions and examples, and planning accordingly. If you wait until the last two weeks to get started on these large assignments, you're going to have a bad time.
Let me reiterate; if you wait until the last minute to do the mastery demonstration, photo research project, or photo essay, you're going to have a hard time finishing up the project in time.
